Rumors of My Rerolling Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

So I have a paladin who I’ve been spending a little time on each day, and I have a resto druid who randomly wound up with her very first old-school Badge of Justice the other day (Yes, it is apparently quite possible for a level 65 tree to heal a level 80 tankadin through level 70 heroics), but you gotta understand something. Namely, you can take the girl outta the hunter but you can’t take the hunter outta the girl. Or something along those lines.

Heck, scratch the girl part, you can be a hot blood elf guy too:

wow_althalorlevel40portrait

Althalor is now level 40. For the uninitiated, that means I now have a level 80 hunter, a level 70 hunter, and a level 40 hunter. And once you toss all my dozens of sub-20 hunters into the mix, I’ve clocked well over 200 collective levels in this class. Probably closer to 250.

Yes, yes, I know. But hey, I can’t help myself. Once you go pewpew, you can’t go… uh… I’ll get back to you on that one.

So yes, I am here to ease the panic that sometimes occurs on blogs, comments, e-mails, and the WoW Twitterati (term coined by one Matticus) when I briefly dip into a non-hunter interlude. Be not afraid– Pike is a hunter, and this is a hunter blog. One lil’ treedrood and one lil’ baby protadin are no match for the Hunter Mafia. I mean, I’m no good at being noble, but it doesn’t take much to see that the leveling of two little alts doesn’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy World of Warcraft.

Eh? Ehhh? See what I did there?

/cough

Okay, I’ll stop now. >.>

(P.S. Okay, so maybe not that many people are panicking. But I can pretend, at least, to make it more dramatic.)

  1. Enjoy your alts. As the old saying goes, it IS a game afterall, and it’s your $15(ish) bucks a month. But really, playing some of the other (lesser as BRK would say) classes can just improve your satisfaction of playing your hunters. I was a pretty staunch hunter before LK came out, but since I’ve made my DK my main. And now that he’s 80, I’m so looking forward to settling back into the comfy clothes of the hunter.

So, again, enjoy your alts, and everyone relax, just cause she likes to moonlight as a healer or an (up and coming) tankadin, no worries. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

  2. Hey Pike! Rayare here, formally from Troll on a PowerBook (been a while). I’m sorry if I may have helped fuel the “Pike is Rerolling Oh No!” thing through my new blog Sauteed Sunfish. I know you’d never leave the hunters (huzzah! hunter solidarity!), so my Pike is Rerolling was in jest. Anyway, your paladin is so adorable! And I never thought I’d say that about a Dreanei heehee!

  3. I have alts that I want to level, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but soon.
    (How was that Pike?)
I’ve spent too much time on my Hunter to then allow him to start gathering dust and I’m sure that no matter what character you play you’ll still be trying to send a pet in to attack only to realise its not there.

  4. Rayare – ZOMG Yay! I haven’t seen you in forever! Glad you are back <3

Don't worry, I don't think anybody really thinks I am rerolling. I just thought the phrase and premise was amusing. I tend to rather easily amuse myself...

  5. It could be like Harry Potter, where little bits of your Hunter soul are stored in non-hunter classes, and the more you have, the crazier you get….

    Chew on that!

  6. Pike – Yay! <3 Many many hugs. I missed all you bloggers, and even when I left I kept reading.

Nassira – Hahahahah. Harry has the last BM-horcrux. Oh noes! Voldemort, I mean, more awesome version of Arthas, needs to destroy him so SV can take over Azeroth! Feign Death Eaters?

  7. @nassira, isn’t tearing your soul kind of a bad thing to do, Voldemort wasn’t a good guy, right? You weaken your soul every time you split it.

However, in world of warcraft, alts are fun to play with. Heck what you should do is multibox and pretend your still a hunter with your pally and druid. Hmm, that’s not such a bad idea, a Pally hunter with his feral druid pet. I got to think about that one.

  8. LOL….no panic, Pike. I have an 80 priest and 75 shaman and 71 rogue to go along with my main….which is, and probably always will be, a hunter. There are times you just need a break or two. We understand.

  9. Alt-itis anonymous members, unite! As of this post, my alt count totals 11, including two bank alts, on two servers. Two level 80 hunters (troll and nelf), 70 paladin (belf) and a bunch of others in the low to mid teens, and one DK that I haven’t even loaded into the game yet.

  10. Wow – that’s a lot of hunter hours you clocked! At one point in my wow career, I added up all the levels of my main and alts, just to see what it was. It was a very large number, and seeing it made me realize if I had just focused on one character or two, I would have had several high level characters.

  11. BEWARE PIKE, BEWARE!!!!

Beware druid epic flight form. It is awesomeness to rival cat rawring into battle….

    Danger Will Robins, Danger!!

  12. *cough*

2 hunters, my banginhawt level 80 NElf and my other banginhawt level 10 BElf.

Coincidently, Banginhawt is the name of my female tauren DK, who I don’t play.

  13. Pike, Alnair looks suspiciously similar to Link in that picture…just sayin, since if you didn’t notice yet, you probably did it subconsciously.

If you have, and did it purposely, I suggest you start seeing a Linkologist about your “condition.”

  14. Krizzlybear-I don’t think that was unintentional. If memory serves, Pike is a huge Link fangirl. Just teasin’ Pike =p
