The Twitterati and I had a brief discussion about titles that weren’t in the game, but that we’d love to have regardless. Klinderas was fond of “Klinderas the Black” and Rilgon likes the ring of “Grand Master Engineer Rilgon”.

What about Pike?

Easy.

Tawyn of the Violet Eye.

Now if this were a real title, say, one you got at Exalted, I’ve no doubt a lot of raider types would shun this one due to the “CPT. KRZHN” stigma. It would be akin to running around with “Conqueror of Deadmines”* as your title or something. I say, screw that. If I had “Hand of A’dal” and could choose between that and “Of the Violet Eye”, I’d choose “Of the Violet Freakin’ Eye“. My rabid fangirly love of everything involving Medivh, Karazhan, and their lore wants to be sated. It wants it badly. Please Blizz? Like, at least a tabard? /plead

My other title would be Hunter Trainer. C’mon, that’d be awesome. Admit it.

Grand Master Alchemist wouldn’t be that bad either, really.

What about you guys? What title does your character want? (Feel free to answer either in a comment, or your own blog post =D)

* FYI, I would totally run around with that one too.

  1. Ikutai says:

    Tundra Stalker Ikutai

    or

Skittering Lord Ikutai (all my hunter pets are bugs, except for a jormungar worm, lol)

  2. Jezriyah says:

Either Sharpshooter Jezriyah (MARKS POWER!), or possibly Defender Jezriyah — I’m just a few HKs in Org away from my City Defender title and I want it badly.

Or else ‘Jezriyah, Consort of the Warchief’ … hey, a girl can dream …

  3. Gnomeaggedon says:

Gnomeaggedon… Master of the Universe… Or at least … Master of the Elements

  4. Salanthe says:

I would love a plain ol’ Shaman. Shaman Salanthe. *sage nod*
Lorekeeper would be awesome (no, Loremaster is not sufficient!).
Brave would be a great title for those exalted with TB. “Brave SoandSo”

  5. Artemes says:

    Ooh, this is difficult.
For my Druid…likely “Guardian of Cenarius” because well…it fits!

For my Hunter “The Diplomat” would be fun.
Though “Of the Horde” is what I’d really like. (I’m very patriotic!)

  6. eresin says:

    I want a sexy title :-)
Sexy Eresin, Eresin the Sexy, whatever so long as I am sexy in one way or another!
    meow…purrr.

Though I certainly like Gnomeaggedon’s Master of the Universe title :-)

  7. BlackDragon says:

I’m not particular about titles – most of what Blizzard has put in the game is cool enough for me.

…of the Shattered Sun (for my Hunter, along with the cool tabard)
…The Argent Champion (for my Paladin – currently working on it)
…Guardian of Cenarius (for my Druid. But that’s a long time coming)

In Patch 3.1 though, I might get ‘…of Silvermoon’ from the Argent Tournament for patriotism’s sake ^_^

  8. Kalam says:

Hmmm i would like the title Kalam of Locksley :D

  9. Thracyyus says:

Sort of like Mekgineer Thracyyus for being a Grand master engineer or Thracyyus Realmwalker for having transferred between realms a few times.

  10. Gybs of Nagrand says:

I really want Argent to be the the prefix..

    Argent Gybs.

    >>

  11. Mazil says:

I just had a brain freeze, I realised I don’t know my hunter as well as I should. I don’t know what title she would like or what would suit her, which is a bit sad!

If it was for myself, I’d quite like “Dread Pirate”. Dread Pirate Mazil! *everyone runs afeared*

  12. Sevei says:

Either ‘Crypt Lord’ Sevei or ‘Dread Lord’ Sevei. Maybe if you could gain rep with Nerubians and the Burning Legion, these could be the Exalted titles?

  13. Krey says:

    Why not: Pike

    or

    o.O

  14. Krey says:

    last comment was broken..

    Why not: Pike “enter name”

    or

    o.O “enter name”

  15. Vulpinor says:

The title I’ve been wanting to see is “the Naked”. It would require maxing out your unarmed skill and personally having nothing equipped for every northrend dungeon boss kill. I think the “soft cap” for this achievement would be to always have 16 free bag slots just in case someone got lippy about your title.
Heh, who wouldn’t want to raid Thunder Bluff with Vulpinor the Naked?

  16. Kalam says:

Actually forget Locksley even though Robin Hood is the ultimate Archer! :P

I would settle for any of these:

    Kalam Of the Bridgeburners
    Kalam Of the Red Blades
    Kalam Of the Crimson Guard
    Kalam: Mortal Sword
    Kalam: Kings Champion

A certain set of books i seem to be obsessed with have influenced these as they follow the WOW fantasy theme and are awesome to read.

  17. Clioratha says:

I think I may need to hope there are more “Grand Master Engineer” titles after Rilgon gets his….

  18. Mookey says:

Each class shall have title reflecting their spec, can save more time on inspecting

    Warrior examples:
    Blademaster Mookey (arms)
    Mookey the Furious (fury)
    Meat-Wall Mookey (prot)

Each town if exalted with should have “of the ” title
Each rep with exalted shall have “of the ”
Each maxed out proffesion should have remark.

  19. kyrilean says:

    Raider … (anyone that raids)
… the Peeved (anyone that’s a raid leader)
… the Grumpy (anyone that’s an officer)

    while we’re at it

… the Sleepy (anyone that’s cleared Naxx 100 times)
… the Sneezy (anyone that’s been diseased 1000 times)
… the Bashful (anyone that’s missed the Thaddius jump)
… the Dopey (anyone that’s died by slime)
… the Happy (anyone that’s cleared Malygos)
and Doc … (anyone with max First Aid)

  20. Shagrat says:

Yes, there needs to be a title for each profession. After all, there is already Chef and Salty (really needs more first aid achievements and a Doctor title though) Also needs to be a title for getting exalted with the Steamwheedle Cartel, something along the lines of ‘Black Marketer’…oooh Black Marketer Shagrat has a nice ring to it.

  21. Eidtalheg says:

Hmm, tough one. On one hand, I like the fact that most of the little vanity features require some significant effort to claim, whether it’s intentionally doing boss fights the hard way, or simply completing a long rep grind. On the other hand, I love anything that lets me RP without, you know, actually RPing :P

That being said, I’d like to see “Grand Master [insert profession here]“, maybe done along the same lines as the “Chef” achievement, with requirements beyond simply a 450 skill-level.

  22. Bellwether says:

    “Field Medic” Bellwether!

  23. Asara says:

Asara the Beast Master -or- Beast Master Asara
Gotta have love for the spec, right?

    Biker Asara
For those with the Chopper/Mechano-Hog (I hope Rilgon doesn’t see that one, since I’m not an engineer. Maybe he’d cut me some slack since hubby IS an engineer and gave it to me to help with my mount achievement? Plus I helped farm the mats. Anyway…)

    Dragon Master Asara
For those with a certain number of dragon mounts (Nether and Proto Drakes would both count), or possibly simply those exalted with Netherwing.

  24. Ragar says:

I’d really like to see some more profession-based titles. Aside from it just being a cool reward for all of the time you’ve invested in your trade, it would give us another means of advertising our wares without having to camp in Trade chat. It would also give me title options for those characters I have that won’t be seeing a raid any time soon.

As for me, I’m perfectly happy with Chef Ragar. However if someone told me I could be Iron Chef Ragar, that’s another matter. Just point me in the direction of whatever quest/dungeon/giant chicken is required for said title and I’ll deal with it.

  25. krikkett says:

My little hunter Daranara is exited to have the chance to be ‘Daranara of Stormwind’ or ‘of the alliance’, but really, just the chance to be ‘Daranara *lastname*’ would be grand, honestly.

  26. Sonvar says:

I don’t think the Violet Eye one would be that bad. You could make it similar to the Argent Champion title. In that you need to be Exalted with the Violet Eye and the Kirin Tor in Norhtend. That at least would make it require a bit more effort.

Personally I think the Winterspring Sabers group should give a title since not many do it and it gives a bit more incentive for the mount also.

  27. Nadie says:

    Lovely idea :D

This totally goes to my own lore-nerd desires, and would never ever happen, but I’d want

    Ghost Walker Nadie

…along with a whole slew of new content surrounding Ghost Walker Post out in Desolace. It’s one of my favorite places in the game because it gives such a strong picture of what the Tauren were probably like prior to uniting at Thunderbluff and forging an alliance with Thrall. Now that I think about it, I’m going to have to go level an alt to play through it again… o.o

  28. I’m rather happy with Sergeant Khol (old skool, whut?) and I’m looking forward to getting of Stormwind once the Argent Tournament commences. However, I’d like to see some titles tied to massive kill achievements similar to what they have in LotR.

‘Cause my hunter NEEDS to be Lotos, the Zombie Hunter.

  29. Zalenna says:

    I really want

    Zalenna , The Time Lord

soooo a Dr. Who fan , and witht he Bronze Drake you get out of CoT Strat
makes sense , Bronze DragonFlight , time travelers all the way

  30. [...] want if you could have anything, existing or not? We talked about it more, and then she started a post about it, which I guess counts as a blogger’s meme now since other people are posting about [...]

  31. Euripedes says:

    Oh man.

    The Time Lord.

    Best title EVER.

  32. Hierakles says:

I’d like to see WoW take a page from EQ2′s book in this case. In EQ2 you can get titles for slaying insane amounts of monsters, for your spec, heck, even for just playing the game for a set amount of time. Also, WAR has done this too, a last name option would be cool too.

  33. I’m currently running around with “Chef Anj” which is my favourite of the ones I have so far but I’m hoping and willing my guild to finally nail Sartharion plus Three Drakes for that fancy “Twilight Vanquisher” suffix.

As for fantasy titles? Wow, such a world of opportunity. Recent experiences might sway me toward “Anj the Unready” or “Anj, Accidentally Misdirected To The Wrong Tank, Sorry” but, in all honesty, “Huntress Anj” is nicely modest enough for me. :)

@ Euripedes: The Time Lord would be the best title ever but there’s only one true Timelord and we all know that is The Doctor! ;)

  34. Stupid Mage says:

I think many Hunters would be happy to be titled after their spec.
    “The Beastmaster”
    “The Marksman”
    “The Survivor”

  35. Kohaku says:

    Kohaku wants…

    … the Beast Master
… the Gatherer (for having two 450 gathering professions)
… the Biochemist (for myself irl)

    ^_^

  36. Klinderas says:

I would like to point out it wasn’t I who came up with Klinderas the Black.

That honour goes to Windpaw over at shock and paw.

    /props

  37. [...] may have read this on Pike’s blog, or Rilgon’s blog, but I’m chipping in with the [...]

  38. Kotamundus says:

I like the Sholazar Basin achievements, I wish they came with a title.

    Kotamundus the Mercenary
    Mercenary Kotamundus

    Either of ;-)

  39. Garetia is already the Mad (in Flag RSP anyway), but I think her ideal title would be
Garetia the Insane, Savior of the Kaldorei. But she’ll have to settle for Old Salty or Loremaster until 3.1, and probably for a long while after. (Personally I would rather have had the insane for say, trick-or-treating all of Eastern Kingdoms at lvl 23, without an escort, but Blizz has decided otherwise)

I’d like to see some very basic titles available early on, like origin titles (Adowa of Elwynn Forest), and zone-based ones, like Cleanser of Ashenvale or Conquerer of the Barrens.

Oh, and titles for all professions. And on that same note, wouldn’t it be cool if you could customize your made by tag? So instead of just saying Made by blank, it could say Product of Dead Space Goat Blacksmithing, or something…

And my DK would be Llonya the Happy.

  40. Gavin says:

Not a title, but there’s a guild on my server called ‘Deadmines on fram’.

    Respect.

  41. Gavin says:

Ouch. ‘Deadmines on farm’ I meant.

  42. Heffer & Nispy says:

Heffer, Master of Comedy Wipes would probably be quite apt for me.

  43. Amava says:

I’ve always been partial to Arathi Highlands. When I was leveling, that’s where I first started to learn a little bit about the game and what it means to be a Hunter, and more importantly, how to pick flowers and ores for days on end. I love the place, and even tamed my Raptor Memphis there.

I’m not sure what achievement they could make to earn the title, but I’m a big Highlander fan, so I’d want…

    Amava MacLeod

    -or-

    Amava of the Clan MacLeod

  44. Kattrinsaa says:

    Here’s a few class/spec based thoughts,

Rogues – Assasin, (subtlety) of the shadows (or the shadow), (combat) the footpad
Druids – (feral) the Furball/of the claw, (resto) the Barkmender, (balance) the Luna ranger/ Boomer/ of the moon.
DK’s – (unholy) the gravedigger, (blood) the vampire, (frost) Deathchill

  45. Phyllixia says:

    How about “Phyllixia the Rhok’er”?

  46. Sarai says:

Having just completed the Wrathgate quest chain on my Nelf, I’m rather partial right now to making the achievement into a title.

    Alanon, Veteran of the Wrathgate

    Oh, yeah

  47. [...] we bloggers feature mountain of blogs per night, blogging is our lifeblood), I came crossways a fun lowercase place from Aspect of the Hare. If you could provide your case some denomination you wanted, what would it [...]

  48. wolfhunter says:

how bout wolfhunter as my pets tend to be wolfs ;-p
or wolfydeathk for my death knight as unholy is it’s spec LOL ;-P
